About Ed4SD project

This research project, is conducting by a PhD candidate in Sustainability Science at the Institute of Education, University of Lisbon, aims to investigate the following main question: "How can digital science communication be leveraged to enhance students' sustainability literacy in order to promote behaviour change?" The study explores the potential of digital platforms and communication strategies to effectively engage students in sustainability topics, ultimately aiming to foster a deeper understanding and motivation for sustainable behaviours.

As part of this research, students ranging from 8 to 10 years old in Portugal and Myanmar actively participate. The study aims to understand how learning about sustainability, facilitated through digitized online visual science communication, can empower students by equipping them with real-world skills that they can apply to enhance their sustainable practices. By exploring the impact of digital science communication on these students, the research seeks to uncover the potential of these educational tools in promoting sustainable behaviors and empowering young learners in both countries.
